What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician, Electrode Metrology- GFTX position at Tesla?

You will be working alongside engineers to develop an advanced new product and be among the first individuals to work on cutting edge manufacturing processes within Tesla. This specific role will focus on characterization and metrology support for battery electrode manufacturing. - Support engineering with offline and inline metrology related tasks for electrode manufacturing.
- Be trained and operate offline metrology and characterizations on samples from various manufacturing processes.
- Install, maintain, test, and validate offline and inline metrology tools.
- Operate various offline metrology equipment in the development stage. Conduct measurements and experimental runs on the equipment and be able to document and report observations.
- Immediately report emergencies, incidents, and near misses to the engineering.
- Support inline tool calibrations, monitor tool health monitoring dashboards, report and resolve tool downtime, calibration issues, and develop OCAP procedures and train production and maintenance technicians.
- Independently document operating procedures and data in a standard format and cross train to be competent in multiple work areas.
- Conduct analytical tests, measure and record data using defined tools and software.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, output, and tool uptime.
- Experience in OQC, IQC, metrology and characterization for battery, semiconductor, optics, or small scale manufacturing.
- Experience with troubleshooting manufacturing and metrology equipment.
- Document processes and procedures for manufacturing, maintenance, quality, etc.
- Operated various manufacturing or assembly equipment.
- Analyze process data, summarize results.
- Familiarity with metrology and characterization equipment would be a plus. Have appetite for learning new techniques at development stage.
