This highly skilled, independent, and determined individual will encounter project critical issues daily and collaborate with others toward creative solutions. This position requires working closely with software, mechanical, and electrical design engineers. Our teams’ metric of success is delivering top quality test systems when and where needed.
The right candidate will apply first principles thinking, lead through influence, adhere to organizational processes, and balance competing company/team priorities. You must be an effective communicator (written and verbal) to clearly state the next steps needed to keep actions on track and ensure engineering projects have the needed materials.
- Prototype high-power, high-speed electro-mechanical test equipment
- Utilize hand, power, and fabrication tools
- Prototype low voltage wire harnesses
- Procurement and part management of mechanical/electrical parts and supplies for related projects
- Acquire, maintain, and secure tools relevant to current projects
- Update Bill of Materials for prototype systems and communicate changes to the wider team
- Document assembly procedures for prototype mechanical/electrical assemblies
- Experience working with electro-mechanical assemblies
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong personal organization skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced R&D environment transitioning conceptual designs to launched products
- Willing to travel domestic and international when necessary
- Ability to lift 50lbs if needed
Desired Experience
- AS or BS degree ME/EE or equivalent technical field or work experience
- 3-5 years demonstrated hands-on work experience in related field/environment.
- Experience working in a motorsports or industrial environment.
- Experience with CAD (Catia) and mechanical assembly drawings
- Experience with Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence.
- Experience specific to data acquisition and/or troubleshooting equipment with multiple subsystems
- Machine shop / part fabrication experience or in-depth knowledge of available processes.
