What are the responsibilities and job description for the Release Manager position at Tesla?
This role can be located at either Tesla location in:
- Austin, TX
- Palo Alto, CA
As a Release Manager, you will drive the delivery of software features, improving efficiency for our design and manufacturing engineering teams. Your work will fundamentally transform the way engineers create and communicate their work which will have a direct impact on Tesla's ability to scale across multiple design and manufacturing facilities globally.
- You will work cross functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Software Development teams to drive 3DExperience releases. More precisely you will:
- Drive and prioritize the development of software features
- Conduct sprint review and sprint refinement sessions
- Conduct release readiness reviews
- Conduct milestone reviews and "go/no go" reviews
- Coordinate release content with the product manager, based on team's work capacity, the business roadmap, and outstanding backlog
- Coordinate deployment activities for multiple engineering tools with product stakeholders and partners
- Continuously improve software release processes
- Coordinate release dependencies with our internal partners
- Manage and communicate dependencies with other teams
- Prepare release notes with methodology team
- Identify documentation and training update opportunities
- Assess for and coordinate training events with the training team
- Experience with the software development cycle • Minimum 1 years of experience as a project manager • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking • Ability to work cross‐functionally • Experience with Agile software development methodology • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Design) Tool, Product Lifecycle Management, and Configuration Management preferred • Experience with Dassault Systems' CATIA/DELMIA preferred • Knowledge of Jira, X-Ray preferred • This role requires working onsite at Tesla in Austin, TX / Palo Alto, CA
