Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program

Responsible for leading high pressure die casting (HPDC) Tool & Die Maintenance Team to improve day to day die sustaining activities, driving continuous improvements, while meeting quality and safety standards.

• Manage team of Tool & Die Specialists and supervisors to lead all aspects of die maintenance

• Increase production output and efficiency at best possible cost

• Lead validation activities

• Create, collect, and release all required tooling documentation for use by sustaining team

• Lead Tool & Die sustaining team for efficiency improvements on the floor by maximizing uptime on the die

• Collaborate with die design team to incorporate feedback from the floor for future dies

• Create and manage tooling budget for casting operations

• Strive for best possible cycle time by optimization of die

• Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for all die related

  production issues

• Create, track & use metrics that emphasize safety, quality, efficiency & cost

• Collaborate with castings production, maintenance, and controls team to execute production

  ramps

• Document die performance and maintenance work

• Participate in setting up a die maintenance and assembly shop necessary for sustained

  production

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field, Master’s Degree preferred or equivalent years of experience

• Minimum of 5-10 years of HPDC Tool & Die management experience in a production environment

• Experience in a casting production plant with large cold chamber machines

• Experience with tooling for structural automotive components

• Hands on experience with tooling on the floor is required

• Experience supervising tooling maintenance teams

• Experience resolving conflict

• Experience in hiring and developing team members and leaders

• Experience in Castings Production environment

• Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

• Effectively communicate to all levels in the organization, including large group presentations

  and translate complex ideas into a simple easy to understand format

• Foster a professional atmosphere of respect and growth

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing

• Demonstrate problem solving skills (man, method, machine, material, etc...).

• Able to effectively multitask
