Teton Fasteners is a locally owned and operated mobile construction supply business serving high-end custom home builders in the Jackson Hole and Teton Valley markets since 2007. The company provides jobsite sales and service to building contractors. Products include an extensive selection of nails, screws, concrete anchors, tools, and various jobsite consumables (e.g. saw blades, drill bits, etc). The business prides itself on delivering Convenience, Quality and Service to customers, allowing them to focus on doing what they do best - building.
The Jackson Sales Rep/Driver for Teton Fasteners drives regular routes with the tool truck in Jackson Hole (Monday - Thursday), visiting construction sites to sell nails, screws, tools, repair parts, etc. directly to contractors and construction workers on their jobs. They will interact with existing and potential new customers. This is a dynamic, active position with varied responsibilities throughout the day. Friendly, helpful customer service is a major focus of the position. Consistent and reliable service is important to Teton Fasteners’ customers. The position is full-time (4 days/~33-40 hours per week) with some flexibility on exact number of hours per week.
Responsibilities Include:
- Safely drive a box delivery truck ~50-60 miles/day in seasonally variable weather and road conditions.
- Complete the day’s planned route, stopping at all regular stops to service all customers that day.
- Contact customers by phone/text as needed to check in and/or coordinate a meeting if you can’t make it to a particular jobsite with the tool truck.
- Accurately ring up sales and receive/process payments through an iPad-based sales system.
- Track special requests and orders as needed.
- Create a restock list at the end of the day and pull the appropriate restock items prior to the next days’ driving (warehouse with backstock located 2 miles south of Driggs).
- Safely move 50-pound boxes to/from the trucks and on the trucks, sometimes in awkward positions and tight quarters.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with all Teton Fasteners customers.
- Advise customers on available inventory, interpret customer needs from verbal and/or visual descriptions.
- Represent Teton Fasteners with potential new customers, solicit new business when/where possible.
- Communicate regularly with Teton Fasteners owner(s) regarding special requests, inventory needs, new customer contacts, questions, challenges, etc.
Required Skills:
- Strong communication (English) and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely lift and carry 50 pound objects repeatedly to/from/around trucks.
- Current Class “B” CDL drivers license with air brakes endorsement (willing to train the right person) and ability to meet all commercial driving requirements (drug testing, etc)
- Safe, conscientious, and defensive driving skills.
- Ability to safely climb in and out of the front and back of box delivery trucks repeatedly throughout a day.
- Attention to detail w/ sales processing and inventory management.
Preferred Skills:
- Spanish language skills a plus!
- Familiarity with the tools and fasteners commonly used in the construction trades.
- Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities at the same time
