This is a paid summer internship (3-4 months) in our Denver, CO office for an upper-level college student, recent graduate or graduate student in the environmental engineering field. This internship presents the opportunity to gain experience and insight into various aspects of the consulting engineering industry from project planning through field work and client management. Typical projects will include work on a wide variety of municipal and/or industrial projects including drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, pump stations, pipelines, and other related ‘wet infrastructure’.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
Assist in preparation of detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
Assist in preparation of construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates
Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
Organization and review of construction documents including submittals and RFIs
Desktop research, data entry
Interface with other engineering disciplines
Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner
Perform other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Recent grad or junior/senior-level student enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or similar OR a student in a graduate degree program in environmental engineering or similar.
Excellent writing skills that include the ability to read and comprehend technical & scientific information, and exceptional attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to proficiently communicate with other members of the Tetra Tech team.
Attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
Familiarity with relevant codes and industry standards.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) programs.
Salary Range: $22 - $24/per hour, depending on experience.
