Since 1999, Tetra Tech has been a Prime Contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District. We were recently reselected for a new 5-year A-E Services contract. Under this contract, Tetra Tech provides the Alaska District with a wide variety of environmental, economic, and engineering services. Projects include NEPA, permitting, and economic evaluations for navigation, military, remediation, and flood risk management projects.

We are in search of a highly-motivated team member to join our family of engineers and environmental scientists and help develop our Anchorage, Alaska office. This person has a diverse skillset and a strong interest in supporting a wide variety of challenging and complex water resources projects in Alaska and throughout the nation. This position offers future advancement opportunities.

Projects may include:

  • Management of projects including leading technical components, tracking budgets and client coordination;
  • Preparing and coordinating NEPA documentation;
  • Preparing Biological Assessments for ESA compliance;
  • Preparing and overseeing development of environmental permits, including CWA Sections 404/401;
  • Stream and River restoration planning;
  • Planning, leading and conducting field surveys for vegetation, wildlife, and wildlife habitat;
  • Performing wetland delineations;
  • GIS based mapping and analysis;
  • Water quality sampling and analysis;
  • Environmental oversight during construction;
  • Assist in business development for biological/environmental work.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • BS in Biology/Environmental Sciences and at least 10-15 years of professional experience OR
  • MS in Biology/ Environmental Sciences and at least 5-8 years of professional experience in environmental science including surveying, monitoring and permitting; delineation of wetlands, and restoration.
  • Experience preparing reports, NEPA, CWA and ESA documentation;
  • Experience developing habitat assessment, mitigation and/or monitoring plans;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Experience with GIS and field data collection equipment including GPS;
  • Experience with environmental compliance for navigation projects;
  • Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers environmental and planning processes;
  • Knowledge of AK state agencies policies and standards;
  • Experience hiring and managing staff; and,
  • Experience in business development, including holding client meetings, identifying business opportunities, and preparing winning proposals for the Alaska market.
