The Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position in Electrical Engineering is responsible for the development, coordination, and teaching of Electrical Engineering courses focused on robotics, control systems and computer engineering in the College of Business, Engineering, and Technology (CBET). The successful candidate will possess documented capability in teaching, scholarship, and services, and will be expected to foster the growth of first-rate Electrical Engineering courses, including building on existing strengths within the College and through collaboration with other faculty in CBET. The successful candidate will also be responsible for addressing student needs in Electrical Engineering and assisting the Department chair and the College dean in the implementation of short- and long-term goals of the Department and the College. The successful candidate should have good communication skills. This position will begin Fall 2023. Faculty at Texas A & M University-Texarkana are required to conduct scholarly activities, work cooperatively with others, and contribute service to their discipline, the university, and the community. Responsibilities for the position Teach assigned courses Assist with ABET accreditation activities Advise undergraduate students. Perform scholarly activities Work collaboratively with faculty across disciplines and colleges Contribute to curriculum and course development Serve on department, college and university committees. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Requirements: An earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Degree must be conferred at the time of appointment. Demonstrated ability to teach and develop courses related to computer engineering and/or robotics. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Experience in teaching upper and lower division Electrical Engineering lecture and lab courses utilizing current supporting technologies at the university level Ability to teach and develop courses in robotics design (programming, sensors and controls) Ability to develop and manage a robotics laboratory by building lab experiments, maintaining lab equipment and consumable supplies, and implementing safety protocols. Ability to teach and develop courses in one or more of the following computer engineering areas: microcontrollers, embedded systems, VHDL, VLSI, image processing, and computer architecture. Familiarity with ABET accreditation process and assessment, including data collection, organization, and analysis Experience in research productivity, including publication of peer-reviewed research and competitive extramural funding, with an ability to foster collaborative, extramural-funded Electrical Engineering projects and/or research for students Ability to assist with university and professional service activities, including national and international outreach to, and collaboration with, industry and other academic institutions REPORTS TO: Reports directly to the Dean of the College of Business, Engineering, and Technology SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL: None OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
