For more information, please visit us at https://marcomm.tamu.edu/ What we want The Marketing Writer provides strategic writing and editing skills necessary to assist in the creation of targeted media, including digital and print advertising and branding projects for both internal and external audiences. The Marketing Writer also creates content for university brand hub platform and online brand guide. Identifies, researches, and creates written content for print, multimedia, social networking, and online. What you need to know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience. Cover Letter/Resume: A cover letter and resume will assist us in our review of your application materials. These can be uploaded on the application under CV/Resume. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of related experience in promotional and educational writing. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of promotional, factual writing styles, and publication procedures and expert in AP Writing Style. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience: Five years' experience in working within a marketing or advertising team. Experience working within brand guides or standards. Expert knowledge of project management with experience using a project management tool. Responsibilities: Writing marketing content - Researches, writes, and edits marketing content for print and digital advertising, brand manuals/usage guides, posters, fact sheets, campaign materials, events, promotional signage and other university initiatives. Performs research interviews with internal and external stakeholders as needed. Maintains a database of stories about Texas A&M faculty, staff and students for potential use in advertising. Attends meetings and other activities necessary for strategic content development. Assists the Director in developing and implementing comprehensive, university-level, strategic communication programs. Performs consultation work for other units. Brand Hub and Brand Guide updates - Assists in developing and updating content on university Brand Hub and online brand guide. Creates content for biweekly brand hub newsletter. Proofreading and Editing - Proofreads and provides editing for marketing materials. Briefings and Presentations - Assists in preparing marketing briefs and presentations. Contributes to the effective team management of relevant problems, issues, and opportunities. Works closely with other communications staff to ensure timeliness and quality of final products.
