Job Summary

We are searching for an Outcomes Analyst - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll be responsible for managing and overseeing the analytical components of projects or programs associated with the Enterprise Data Management and Clinical Infrastructure Strategy. The position analyzes and interprets clinical, operational, and satisfaction data to provide insight into care delivery, quality improvement, and research. This position will provide consultation and support in the development, analysis, interpretation, and management of a variety of complex data sources to support the clinical process improvement and waste reduction initiatives. The Outcomes Analyst supports development and implementation of clinical and financial data reporting to meet the needs of Clinical Programs and Clinical Support Services. This includes outcomes reporting, trend analysis, data mining, and analysis reporting to meet regulatory requirements or quality improvement and research publication projects. You’ll manage multiple projects or oversee multiple highly complex programs that overlap between several Clinical Programs or Clinical Support Services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage enterprise-wide, high priority analyses and processes associated with clinical integration and data management
  • Perform the Key Process Analysis
  • Participate in Best Practice Discovery and Data Quality Assurance and Data Integrity
  • Design Reports and Metrics
  • Manage Report Distribution
  • Interpret Results and Research
  • Develop processes and methods, with collaboration, for consistent data management, analysis, and interpretation within the enterprise-wide clinical programs and within the Quality and Safety Department
  • Help Clinical Program leadership prioritize process improvement initiatives and sequence Care Process Model team establishment by preparing high level key process analysis, which shows the largest processes with the most significant variation
  • Perform ad-hoc queries to investigate data and provide insights into trends, patterns and correlations in the data currently captured
  • Design Patient Populations - Work collaboratively with data managers to define sets of patients to be measured based on similar patient characteristics (e.g. condition, severity of illness, demographics)
  • Oversee the strategy for information distribution including, but not limited to Report Bursting, Report Portal, Analytical Applications and Ad-hoc Analysis Results

Qualifications

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

  • Master’s degree in math, statistics, computer science, or a related field required; Ph.D. preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in a healthcare setting (either hospital or ambulatory) and awareness of national issues in the healthcare industry required; 1 year experience in project management preferred
