Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Correction Officers to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our correctional facility and ensuring the safety and well-being of all youth and staff. Responsibilities:
- Provide overall supervision of youth at the McLennan County Juvenile Correctional Facility located in Mart, Texas.
- Conduct regular inspections of the dorm to ensure compliance with all safety, security, and operational standards
- Implement policies and procedures to maintain order and discipline within the facility
- Respond to emergency situations, including fires, riots, and medical emergencies, and take appropriate action
- Maintain accurate and detailed records, including incident reports and facility logs
- Perform first aid and CPR as necessary
- Maintain a culture of respect, fairness, and transparency within the facility
- Serve as a role model and mentor to other staff members and youth
- Manage and resolve conflicts and disputes with the youth
- Maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as criminal justice or administration, is preferred
- Experience in a correctional or law enforcement setting is highly desirable
- Experience in a supervisory or management role is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Strong leadership and conflict management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
*These are twelve hour shifts - 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am. Must be able to be assigned to either shift at the completion of training. Schedule is 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off.
Starting salary with no experience is $3908. Candidates with Bachelor degrees and prior military start at $4116.63.
