Mechanic Lead
Description

- Perform and/or leads all maintenance airframe and engine activities on assigned aircraft, including airframe component removal & replacement
- Assist with planning, overseeing, & conducting multiple aircraft projects at a time (est. 3-4)
- Lead and monitor entire aircraft projects and ensure they are completed fully and on time
- Assign specific tasks to team members and prioritize work based on customer/schedule demands
- Ensure work of self and team is performed in a safe, correct, compliant, and timely manner:
- aircraft correctly configured,
- aircraft protective covers installed as required,
- aircraft and bays kept clean/FOD-free/organized,
- work order book and weight & balance complete
- Sign logbook entries / return to service paperwork
- Mentor other team members as required, to include providing guidance and on the job training on tasks such as aircraft maintenance & modifications, manual usage, and blueprint reading
- Monitor and report performance and work hours of assigned employees to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Assist with and/or initiate PSE/Vendor/manufacturer requests
- Meet aggressive schedules
- Exhibit and promote Textron, Bell, & Piney Flats high performance team culture value and behaviors, and provide positive leadership
- Demonstrate safe work habits and always wear proper PPE
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs at one time
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, climb, and crawl in and out of aircraft as required
This position may be required to work 1st or 2nd shift depending on delivery schedule and commitments.
Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED
Experience :
- Extensive working knowledge of relevant Bell aircraft models, to include knowledge of complex tasks
- 5 or more years' experience on Bell aircraft specific to lead duties
- Skills/Certifications:FAA A&P Certificate
- Strong customer focus and team-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated self-motivation, strong sense of responsibly, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and to successfully meet aggressive delivery schedules
- Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions closely, good organization skills
- Ability to successfully collaborate and coordinate with other departments
- Basic computer skills (primarily MS Outlook)
