Textum OPCO, LLC is hiring a Quality Engineer for it's Belmont, NC textile manufacturing operation.

Whether it's thermal protection systems for space vehicles, preforms for CMC components, or preforms and fabrics for carbon-carbon processing, we have the experience and expertise to help ensure our customer's success both as a reinforcement provider and through delivery of finished parts.
We are looking for a qualified Quality Engineer to support both development and production activities related to Textile manufacturing. The ideal candidate will work with production and R&D to make sure that the processes and documentation are compliant with our AS9100 system. They will be expected to maintain the Textum Quality Management System and make sure all documentation is correct. The candidate will create certifications for customers, as well as making sure all products meet the quality requirements per the customers specifications. They will also perform acceptance testing of finished goods, and will walk the production floor daily to inspect process control and work in progress. The Quality Engineer may also perform a variety of other activities including, but not limited to: machine operation, physical labor, basic tool usage, and other tasks as needed.
This is a full-time, direct hire position with 1st shift hours.

Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of coordination tasks, including but not limited to: maintain quality system, quality checks of production and R&D products, reviewing customer quality requirements and certification creation.
- Ensure that a document control procedure is adopted to approve, review and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of QMS.
- Ensure that all records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records.
- Ensure that all new staff are inducted into the requirements of QMS related to their own roles and responsibilities. Provide update training as necessary.
- Ensure that all suppliers used by the organization are selected, evaluated and reevaluated and that records of this assessment are maintained.
- Ensure that an internal audit program is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to planned arrangements, QMS arrangements and is effectively implemented and maintained. Ensure that appropriate is taken when this is not the case.
- Analyze data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement from other relevant sources.
- Coordinate continual improvements to QMS. Ensuring that evidence of corrective and preventive actions taken are recorded and reviewed.
- Create certification documents for customers.
- Perform in-line quality checks of work in progress.
- Review customer quality requirements on incoming orders.
