JOB SUMMARY: Director of School Linked Mental Health be responsible for the clinical and administrative supervision of staff providing school-linked mental health services including responsibility for clinical and business practices as well as maintaining national accreditation and state licensing standards. As part of the management team for direct services, the Director of School Linked Mental Health participates in related activities which impact the leadership and management of clinical services, including participation in the development of budgets and financial projections, program development, staff training, and outreach activities, process and procedural updates and revision.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Supervision
- Assure the smooth functioning of clinical services, including quality services, record keeping, program reporting, and billing.
- Provide clinical supervision for various mental health professionals.
- Assist in the development of and meeting clinical program objectives.
- Assist in the development of clinical practice and quality assurance policies and procedures, along with the VP of Programs
- Work with the VP of Programs to assure that relevant accreditation and contractual standards are met and maintained.
Staff Management, Recruitment, and Hiring
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the therapists.
- Assure that staff has a clear understanding of goals and that delivery of services adheres to those goals.
- Provide performance evaluation and management for staff, including goal setting and professional development.
Staff Development
- Assist the VP of Programs in developing and implementing a staff development program for clinical staff.
- Seek opportunities and recommend strategies to eliminate barriers, which keep people of color from participating in the Agency.
- Meet established direct services standards.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Serve as the agency representative to the state and county for the SLMH program.
- Coordinate and troubleshoot with all school personnel as needed.
- Develop and maintain appropriate policies and procedures for the SLMH program.
- Ensure appropriate record keeping as required by state contract.
- Coordinate with administrative support staff to ensure accurate and complete billing information and data collection.
- Complete reporting requirements as outlined in relevant grant and service contracts.
- May be required to work some evenings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited school.
- Five years post-degree or psychotherapy experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Two years of supervisory experience and accreditation as a supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and business aspects of mental health services.
- Experience with and working understanding of low-income communities, communities of color, and other oppressed and/or vulnerable populations.
- Ability to fulfill the requirements of the Supervisor beyond the minimum in all areas.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
- Must be able to work effectively in a mission-driven agency whose clients and staff exhibit significant diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, gender orientation, socio-economic status, nationality, and religion.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school systems and personnel.
- Must have excellent people skills, able to work well with others and build relationships.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- Valid MN Drivers’ License, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet TFP’s driving record requirements.
