TFW Construction is looking to hire a qualified Field Superintendent for work in San Diego
Summary:
The Superintendent’s main responsibility is the coordination of all field activities. Responsible for all field activities associated with the project, including supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors. Effectively manage storm water prevention program including, coordination with governing agencies. Shares responsibility with the project manager for developing the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to the company policies, procedures, and intent. All activities to be conducted with an emphasis on safety, client satisfaction, and quality.
Routinely updates project manager regarding the status of schedule, costs, and plan conflicts. Actively participates in development and management of project general conditions, construction schedule, project planning/phasing, and subcontractor negotiations.
Thoroughly understands project specifications, the contract, and the subcontracts and confirms that all materials and subcontract work comply with contract documents and quality specifications. Ensures that project site and company assets are secure and maintains a safe and respectful working environment at all times by implementing programs for safety and clean up. Manages and documents subcontractor problems or nonperformance (along with the project manager). Confirms that extra charges from subcontractors/suppliers are reasonable and work is correctly executed. Coordinates with project manager for approval on extra charges. Facilitates weekly project progress and safety meetings with all subcontractor representatives and coordinates the upcoming work to be accomplished. Oversees site safety, housekeeping, and developing/implementing our site safety plans.
Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations. Perform other related duties as needed.
Education / Experience
College Degree preferred. 2 years experience as a responsible Superintendent. Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project preferred.
