What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Marketing Manager position at Thales Group?
The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) located in Melbourne, Florida, is responsible for ensuring the competitiveness of their assigned product portfolio. The PMMs will focus on translating customer and market requirements into products and services with clear and differentiated value proposition to increase order intake and net margin. The PMM is responsible for ensuring the products and service within their portfolio are delivering solutions that the market values, is willing to pay for, and will select over the competition. The PMM will also be responsible for the positioning and pricing policies of their portfolio based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market and innovation trends, and the competitive environment. The PMM will work closely with the Strategy, Business Development, Customer Success and Product Delivery teams to capture customer requirements, translate them into product and service requirements and ensure the values of our their assigned portfolio are understood by the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform ongoing market research to identify future opportunities and threats to portfolio
Develop business cases to support introduction of new products and services into portfolio
Collaborate with Customer Success team to map customer requirements to product strategy, identifying gaps and weaknesses, and developing plans to address
Prioritize areas for investment that provide the highest return based on customer needs and competitive analysis
Identify the value propositions of each solution and validate the assumptions with the market
Identify target market and develop go-to-market plans for each product/service in portfolio
Develop positioning strategies for each product/service in portfolio
Collaborate with Product Delivery to define robust roadmaps and life cycle strategies for each product/service
Develop and constantly refine business models and pricing strategies for products and services
Develop compelling sales materials that clearly delineate and promote product value
Perform regular training sessions with customer facing teams
Support strategic sales activities as subject matter expert for assigned product portfolio
Persistently interact with customers, partners and key stakeholders to ensure solutions and roadmap validity
Represent Thales as subject matter expert and thought leader at tradeshow and industry events
Build strong relationships across the organization in order to drive product and service awareness and alignment
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, General Business, Entrepreneurship STEM or related field
8 years’ experience of combined specific experience in Product Marketing and/or Product Management in any combination of the telecommunication, media digital services, and/or inflight entertainment and communications field
8 years’ experience in value-based pricing
8 years’ experience in developing and communicating effective value propositions
Proven experience in developing effective marketing material
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to travel 20-40% of the time to attend external and internal events
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Post Graduate degree in Marketing, General business, Entrepreneurship STEM or related field
Certification in value based pricing
Certification in Product Marketing
Experience in high-technology product development and/or engineering management
Ability to assimilate and synthesize technology trends into business opportunity
Experience in successful public speaking
