Junior Estimator for Heavy Civil Construction

We have a diverse heavy civil portfolio to include, dams, reservoirs, locks, DOT roadway construction, bridges. large diameter utilities, landfills, waste water treatment plants,mass excavation,and on-demand emergency services.

We are seeking to an experienced, career minded Junior Estimator to be part of our growing team. An ideal candidate will be a team player who is highly motivated with a strong work ethic and desires to be part of a skilled estimating team.  Experience as a Project/Field Engineer with take-off experience is a plus. This position is located in the corporate Hillsborough, NC Office.

The Junior Estimator’s primary responsibility is to support and assist the Sr. Estimators in preparation of bids and estimates by performing quantity take-offs, data input, product research and subcontractor acquisition. 

Basic Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Performs quantity take-offs
• Accurate Data Input
• Product research
• Subcontractor Acquisitions
• Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism
• Other duties as assigned 

 Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Vocational or High School Diploma/Associates’ /Technical Degree or Bachelor's Degree
• Heavy civil or related field construction experience Preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in preconstruction/construction capacity Preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Auto Cad
• HCSS Experience Preferred
• Ability to perform take-off for the following work types (CIP & Precast Concrete, Structural, Reinforcing & Misc.Steel, Sheeting, Piling, Cellular Cofferdam, Landfills, DOT,)
• Familiar with reading heavy civil construction drawings & blueprints 
• Strong organization and planning skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines

 Physical Requirements:

• FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Must be able to listen and speak clearly on phone
