The 3rd is a 501c3 non profit organization based in Howard County, MD. The 3rd exists to support WOC entrepreneurs in creating and maintaining viable businesses. We do this through a unique community centered approach to our 200 members across the DMV, our coworking space, and our event rentals. Located on the Downtown Columbia lakefront, The 3rd is a unique and revolutionary concept providing coworking, office, conference room, and podcasting rentals as well as private event rentals. The 3rd team is made up of passionate, entrepreneurially minded individuals who prioritize the mission and work creatively and diligently to bring it to life every day.

Position Overview: The Event Lead role at The 3rd is a pivotal position within our dynamic team, primarily focusing on the orchestration of private event rentals within our expansive and versatile 8,000 square foot venue. This role demands a proactive and dedicated approach towards customer service, meticulous event planning, and seamless execution. As a cornerstone of The 3rd's business model, private event rentals require the Event Lead to act as the primary conduit between our esteemed clients and our venue, ensuring every event is realized to the highest standard of satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Communication: Engage in consistent and professional email correspondence with potential leads and existing clients to understand and meet their event needs.
  • Financial Management: Generate invoices for event rentals, ensuring accurate and timely billing processes.
  • Venue Tours: Conduct comprehensive tours of the facility, showcasing the versatility and unique features of our space for event purposes.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with hourly event support staff to manage and execute larger events smoothly.
  • Caterer Liaison: Work closely with catering services to guarantee a cohesive and harmonious event experience, aligning food and service quality with event themes and client expectations.
  • Space Advocacy: Clearly communicate the advantages and limitations of our venue to clients, ensuring transparent understanding of what The 3rd offers.
  • Revenue Reporting: Compile and present detailed monthly reports on event rental revenue, contributing to strategic planning and financial oversight.
  • On-site Support: Provide dedicated on-site assistance for events, available during both daytime and evening, to oversee operations and resolve any issues promptly.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

  • Evenings as needed
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:

  • Columbia, MD 21044: Relocate before starting work (Required)
