Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers. Our Advanced Visualization & Simulation Development Section within the Engineering Applications Department of ISCD is seeking an Advanced Visualization Software Engineer to join their team. EAD develops and enhances space-related software solutions on various platforms for internal customers. Because EAD is actively developing software, they are in a favorable position to review the design, code, and test artifacts for ground and flight software development, and support software being acquired for NSS, civil and commercial programs. In addition, we support software acquisition planning, process execution, and product test and evaluation. This position is a hybrid work model and can sit partially remotely, with some onsite work required in El Segundo, CA. What You’ll Be Doing Support industry leading engineers and scientists in the development of maintainable cloud and desktop data visualization applications as well as the development backend service-oriented architecture components Support a wide variety of Civil Systems Group and Space and Missile Systems Center ground system customers through software development. Design, develop, and maintain software for a variety of engineering applications, including technical/scientific computing, high performance computing, simulations, and graphics visualization. Work on teams to help define innovative next generation space and ground system applications Support our research and development activities in the area of robotic middleware development for space exploration What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related discipline. Demonstrated proficiency and close to 2 or more years of professional experience in object-oriented programming languages. Proficiency in C , Python, and JavaScript is highly desirable. Agility to quickly learn new programming languages. Ability to work both independently, and cooperatively within a team. Good written and verbal communications skills. The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: M.S. degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Computer Graphics or Parallel Computing. Experience developing graphical user interfaces is highly desirable. Proficiency in graphical application frameworks such as Qt, AngularJS, and Bootstrap. Experience with developing back-end databases with SQL and NoSQL frameworks such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis. Experience developing graphics visualization applications using DirectX and/or OpenGL Experience developing high computational performance applications using OpenCL or CUDA.
