Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff combine expertise in software engineering, cybersecurity, and engineering applications with the latest in information system technologies to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers. This position is a hybrid role, and can work mostly remotely with some onsite work in El Segundo, CA. What You’ll Be Doing The primary function of this role is providing organizational process modeling services to U.S. Space Force and National Reconnaissance Office program office personnel and system development contractors. This work is necessary for providing our customers with the information they require for effective management of their programs, especially software-intensive system acquisition programs. This position reports to the Director of the Software Process, Modeling, and Measurement Department within the Software Engineering Subdivision. Duties, responsibilities, and activities include other work as needed, such as software process guidance and improvement, software measurement, and program reviews. This position can be filled as a Process Modeling & Simulation Engineering Specialist or Sr. Process Modeling & Simulation Engineering Specialist. What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements for Engineering Specialist: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in computer science, software or industrial engineering, mathematics, or closely related field Ten or more years of experience in professional software development is typical Strong technical background and clearly demonstrated expertise in software development processes Ability to model organizational workflows, processes, and systems using commercial simulation software Basic working knowledge of statistics for analyzing model inputs and outputs Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated in publications and presentations Outstanding interpersonal skills Willing to travel domestically approximately 10% This position requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S. government. Minimum Requirements for Sr. Engineering Specialist: All the requirements above for Engineering Specialist Experience conducting modeling study engagements from proposal through delivery of results, including process and data elicitation, modeling (input analysis, runs for statistics, output analysis), and verification and validation. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: Masters or Ph.D. degree from an accredited program in computer science, software or industrial engineering, mathematics, or closely related field. Three or more years of experience in continuous and discrete event modeling and simulation Experience in modeling and simulating software development processes Experience in statistical design of experiments (DOE) for simulation models Familiarity with modeling and simulation software, for example ExtendSim and Vensim Active DoD TS/SCI clearance Ways We Reward Our Employees During your interview process, our team will provide details of our industry-leading benefits.
