ARM Group LLC is actively hiring for a "Senior Electrical Engineer " with one of our clients in Roselle , IL
Purpose:
The purpose of the Electrical Engineer position is to design, develop, and ensure compliance with UL 508A/CSA/NEC requirements and guidelines within custom fabrications. This work primarily focuses on water treatment/chemical dosing skids and other related equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following essential functions outline the key responsibilities of this role:
1. System Drafting:
- Design systems in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical based on sold projects.
- Collaborate with Application Engineers and Sales teams to develop engineered solutions for optimized systems.
- Review Electrical/GA drawings alongside P&ID drawings and system quotes to ensure accuracy.
2. System Engineering:
- Calculate power requirements and load calculations.
- Develop power and control schematics, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and data sheets.
- Coordinate with necessary OEM vendors.
- Ensure designs comply with UL 508A standards.
- Provide instructions to the Electrical production team to ensure builds comply with NEC (National Electric Code) standards.
3. Revision & As-Built Drawings:
- Collaborate with Production and Panel Shop Supervisors to complete as-built drawings based on markups from tested equipment, including the completion of close-out documents.
- Perform revisions of drawings based on customer feedback.
- Coordinate with Sales and Application Engineers for scope changes or engineering solutions.
4. Electrical Engineering Support:
- Provide support to the Panel Shop Supervisor.
- Design electrical integration and develop BoMs.
- Offer field electrical support for the Service Team.
- Assist AE's/Sales teams in developing scope and product selection.
- Participate in electrical inspection, testing, and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in an Electrical-based field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology).
Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical drafting.
- Preferred experience in the Water Treatment/Fluids industry.
- Strong ability to read and interpret Electrical Technical Prints and Industrial Technical Documents.
- Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and a team-player mentality.
- Project ownership with the ability to manage tasks independently.
- Engineering math skills, capable of performing basic engineering-related calculations for design solutions.
Working Conditions:
- The position is primarily office-based, with a focus on using computer programs and software for drafting.
- A standard 40-hour workweek on a salary basis.
- Workdays are structured based on the workload and project deliverables.
