Part-Time Associate Baker

Part-Time Associate Baker:

3-Month Contracted Position: May 15-August 31st (with potential for additional growth)

Pay: $18/hr

Approx. 20 hrs per week. Flexible hours, but must be available Thursdays-Saturdays.

About the Baked Lab:

The Baked Lab is a Dessert Studio and Learning Laboratory focused on modern cakes and custom desserts. The Lab was created in 2019 by arts administration, Shawn Bolduc, who’s passion for baking, art, design, and education influence each of the studio’s bakes. Our space is fun, inclusive, and hard working.

Shawn is looking for a partner to work closely with for the 2022 wedding season. This individual will act in a vital role in the studio including the following responsibilities, but not limited to. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a strong passion for baking, have a high level of accuracy and integrity, and be willing to help grow The Baked Lab.

Primary Responsibilities

• Baking, filling, and crumb-coating cakes
• Baking a variety of pastry
• Making and working with Swiss meringue buttercream
• Making and working with fruit compotes, citrus curds, chocolate ganache, and caramel sauce
• Buttercream tinting, piping and texturing
• Building layer cakes
• Packaging cakes and desserts
• Delivering cakes (driver’s license and own car required)
• Assisting during workshops
• Recipe R&D
• Dishes and kitchen cleaning tasks
• Maintaining tidiness of workstations
