Commission Based Hairstylist

The Beauty Salon is seeking a skilled and passionate hairstylist to join our team on a commission-based arrangement. As a commission-based hairstylist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional hair care services to our clients while earning a commission based on the services you provide. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to showcase your creativity and expertise in hairstyling.

This position will be available June 2024 at a new salon location in the Ghent area of Norfolk.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of hair care services including cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments according to client preferences and hair type.

Consult with clients to understand their hair care needs and preferences, and provide recommendations on styles and treatments.

Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in hairstyling to offer innovative and current services to clients.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through excellent customer service, communication, and professionalism.

Up-sell additional services and retail products to clients to maximize earnings and enhance the client experience.

Manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling to ensure efficient use of time and resources.

Collaborate with other team members to create a positive and supportive work environment.

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards for quality of service and professionalism.

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years proven experience as a hairstylist with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills and expertise in hair cutting, coloring, and styling.

Valid Virginia Cosmetology License.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.

Strong attention to detail and precision in executing hair care services to meet client expectations.

Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and resources to accommodate client appointments.

Knowledge of hair care products, tools, and techniques, and the ability to recommend and sell products to clients.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Positive attitude, creativity, and passion for the beauty industry.
