What are the responsibilities and job description for the Room Service Server position at The Ben Hotel?
*The day-to-day?
- Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow specified procedures to provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service to hotel guests including. answering department phones, taking and delivering orders, and preparing guest checks.
- Monitor hotel hallways ensuring that they are free of used room service items at all times.
- Ensure the service station is always attended at all times while on-duty.
- Communicate and supply needs to restaurant management.
- Appropriately follow all cash-/credit-procedures.
- Immediately report any suspicious occurrences and/or hazardous conditions.
- Maintain the cleanliness of workstation at all times.
- Practice safe work-habits at all times, to avoid injury (to self and others), including safe handling and operation of all power-driven machinery.
- Perform all tasks (incl. cross-training) as directed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: n/a

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prior experience preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
