A prep cook must be an excellent team member with exceedingly good communication skills. They must be able to remain patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure. A prep should pay close attention to detail, always being aware of what is happening around them and at their station. One must be committed to preparing the highest quality dish, using the best ingredients and techniques. A prep must be able to follow exact recipes and always remain respectful towards the chef’s orders. They must be able to keep their station organized at all times and work accordingly with the other employees.
