Position Summary:
The Insulation Estimator plays a crucial role in assessing and estimating the insulation requirements for various piping systems. This role involves analyzing project specifications, determine the scope of work and provide accurate cost estimates. The Insulation Estimator ensures that projects are appropriately planned, contributing to the overall success of insulation projects, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review Project Requirements: Carefully analyze project specifications, engineering drawings, and other relevant documents to understand the scope and requirements for insulation.
2. Cost Estimation: Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for insulation projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
3. Estimate Material Requirements: Determine the type, quantity, and quality of insulation materials needed based on project specifications, industry standards.
4. Work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements, address technical concerns, and gather necessary inputs for estimation.
5. Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed proposals, including cost breakdowns, technical specifications, and project timelines, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company guidelines.
6. Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate records of estimation details, project documents, and communication to facilitate smooth project execution and assist with future reference.
7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve estimation processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource allocation, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the estimation function.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or associated degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in estimating projects or a related field preferred).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate quantity and cost calculations.
- Attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex project specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
