Bug Bite Thing’s mission is to educate the world on a more effective, chemical-free way to alleviate the effects of bug bites and stings. Summary/objective:
The Copywriter candidate is responsible for developing and maintaining a clear voice/tone and delivering a captivating brand message that speaks directly to the reader, viewer, or user. A successful Copywriter is a leader that is open to the influence, inspiration, and expertise of the people around them, leveraging the widest array of talents, strengths, and weaknesses.
Essential functions:
- Ability to own a project/campaign(s) through the entire content process – from brainstorming and ideating, to collaborating with designers and implementation
- Lead overall brand voice and content across 360-Marketing channels; especially online and digital ecosystem; including but not limited to company’s website, landing pages, display ads, email communications, paid & organic social media, in-store displays, and other marketing materials and initiatives
- Maintain and enhance our brand story in both our Shopify & Amazon stores ensuring brand consistency across all consumer touchpoints
- Own email channel copy content and campaign deployments I.E. Subject Lines, Pre-Header Text, Headlines, Call to Action, etc.
- Craft content for our websites, press releases, blogs, newsletters, ads, and other marketing materials.
- Edit and proofread copy as needed.
- Review and update web page content or links in a timely manner using appropriate tools.
- Keep up with market trends, consumer needs, and the competitive landscape to collaborate with peers developing strategic campaigns/messaging to maximize campaign performance; top/middle/bottom of the funnel across the entire consumer journey
- Align with supervisor and international partners to ensure all marketing verbiage is accurate in-market and meets brief/project(s) requirements
- Work closely with creative, marketing, sales, and customer service divisions to make content decisions that are on-target hitting marketing plans and campaign briefs; determine how best to amplify our brand message and proposition for the desired target audience
- Establish a unified brand voice for the company, helming a content/copy audits to elevate our brand perception globally
- Support creative team by developing compelling ideas and solutions that can work across all marketing outlets, especially online/website experience, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Skills and qualifications:
- 7 years as a professional Copywriter and/or Content Creator (focus on copy)
- 4 years of experience in social platforms; ideally in an in-house team or agency setting
- Ability to create multi-channel campaigns and digital portfolio (or copy samples) demonstrating strong concept work
- Expert knowledge in grammar, literature, love for words, and all things digital
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs; basic Adobe programs a plus
- Deep understanding of the power of words, messaging, brand strategy, typography, and communication at its core
- Highly skilled team player with experience writing various types of copy; from short, punchy, clever, marketing-speak, to long, storytelling, authentic/personal content
- Strong creative vision with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, changing priorities, feedback, and tight deadlines
- A self-starter who thrives on taking ownership of writing assignments big and small
- Team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and roll up your sleeve’s mentality
- A track record of attracting, retaining, and growing an audience using compelling content in brand campaigns, direct response advertising, email, and social media
Education and experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or English Literature/Language
· 7 years as a professional Copywriter and/or Content Creator (focus on COPY) with 4 years of experience in social platforms; ideally in an in-house team or agency setting
· Solid knowledge in online/digital ecosystems, social platforms, 360-marketing campaigns best practices, and current trends applications
