Full Time Dog Trainer
$36,000 - $54,000/ year
Looking for a dog trainer to join The Canine Mind! You will spend your days working 1-1 with our Boarding & Training dogs, overseeing their daily care and training development according to our curriculum. You will serve as an ambassador of our brand, provide excellent customer service to their owners, and ensure that the dogs receive the highest quality of care. Our mission is to provide a Lifetime of Wagging Tails, and your skills and experience will expand our capacity to better serve our Salt Lake community.
Job Responsibilities
- Must be able to board 2 dogs in your home as part of our Board & Train program.
- Provide 1-2 hours of daily training to each dog, plus 4 individual potty trips per day.
- Follow dog handling and training protocols as outlined in our Dog Trainer manual.
- Ensure dogs receive the highest quality of care, and are crated or kenneled in a clean, safe, climate-controlled environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 1-3 years of professional dog experience (training, walking, grooming, boarding, handling, etc.)
- Passion for dogs and a strong work ethic
- Ability to handle large dogs (lifting, assisting them into positions, etc.)
- Must have reliable transportation and live within 30 minutes of Salt Lake City 84106.
- Must be respectful, empathetic, reliable, and honest.
- Have an ability to go with the flow. Part of working with animals is a lack of predictability. If you’re the right person for this job, you’re able to easily adapt.
