The Cedars is in search of a qualified Healthcare Informatics Specialist. This position will collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups, and functions as the point-person, in all aspects of the life cycle of clinical information systems implementation to transform The Cedars clinical practices in accordance with strategic business/clinical objectives.

Requirements:
- Manages and develops electronic medical record (EMR) training and technology solutions.
- Provides leadership, consultation and direction for information technology that affects clinical information management.
- Participates in strategic planning related to future direction of the nursing department and clinical information systems.
- Identifies and participates in performance improvement opportunities to be addressed through information systems.
- Assist in analyzing, documenting and redesign nursing and clinical workflow relative to information systems at The cedars.
- Develop or implement policies and/or practices to ensure privacy, confidentiality or security of patient education.
- Participates in all facility surveys.
- Participates in and attends facility committees and meetings as needed.
- Effects the standardization of clinical data, nursing documentation and nursing workflow and practices.
- Plans and delivers education/training to assist all electronic health care users to function at their highest possible level.
- Translate patient information into alphanumeric medical code, ICD-10.
- Coordinates ICD-10 Coding, Minimum Data Set (MDS) into the EMR.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
- Licensed healthcare worker, RN preferred.
- Three (3) years experience in long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare rules and regulations regarding all resident documentation.
- Direct work experience involving the implementation and use of clinical information systems.
- ICD-10 certification.
