Responsibilities

The Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Electronics Integration & Test group at Draper is seeking a Hardware Engineer with broad technical skills to work within multidisciplinary teams to conceptualize, develop, analyze, and/or assess robust GN&C electronics solutions for a wide variety of applications, including defense systems.

 

A successful candidate will be:

  • Highly motivated to support the delivery of technology solutions that are of strategic importance to the nation
  • Dedicated to developing the in-depth mission and technology domain expertise that enable realization of such solutions for complex systems
  • Capable of planning and executing individual tasks on a multidisciplinary team, as well as leading small teams as necessary

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
  • Five to Seven years of experience in electronics development and test.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in the design, manufacturing, and testing of cables, electromechanical assemblies, and circuit boards
  • Experience with standard test and measurement hardware (power supplies, meters, etc.), integration and test of HW and SW elements and electronics-based components and subassemblies (breadboard HW, test equipment, etc.)
  • Familiarity with commercial test instrumentation including data acquisition modules, PCI/PXI instrumentation, real-time embedded controllers and communication devices, MATLAB, LabVIEW, diagnostics and test and documenting related activities (plans, procedures, configuration, and test results) is desired. 
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW, Excel, MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE, or other similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience working in a lab environment is desirable
  • Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical level with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a group environment
  • Ability to manage a small team of test engineers to support debug of production and deployed hardware issues for DoD and government applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. 
  • Secret Clearance required
