Summary: Packages processed frozen or fresh meats and poultry for distribution. Selects products from pick ticket and stages for production. Replenishes stock as needed. Maintains cleanliness of work space by performing the following duties.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and/or weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to read film specifications
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual be able to use a scan gun, enter location changes and other information.
Certificates and Licenses:
No certifications needed. Must be able to training required for equipment used.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Transport finished product to appropriate packaging line utilizing carts
- Power down machines using appropriate procedures
- Set up vacuum packaging machines for appropriate size required.
- Bag portions and put through machine for sealing.
- Box portion portions according standards
- Weigh box for specification and apply labels to boxes.
- Stack boxes and stage for inventory or shipment
- Read customer order to determine items to be processed, moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from productions locations to stocked locations or to other designated areas using pallet jack or carts.
- Lifting boxes ranging .5#-55# frequently.
- Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Work in refrigerated rooms 30-36 degrees and freezers.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing station or shipping department to prepare for shipping.
- Mark or label items with identifying information.
- Open boxes, crates, and other containers.
- Record amounts of items distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area including warehouse.
