Production Engineer

Responsible for designing, configuring, installing and supporting production audio, video, and lighting solutions for worship experiences and events to help accomplish the mission and vision of BattleCreek Church.

Production Systems:  Responsible for assisting in the design, install, and maintenance of production (audio, video, and lighting) systems across all campus venues.  Tracks inventory, maintenance records, and life cycle of equipment across campuses. Pioneers new systems and generate fresh ideas through collaboration with ministry, creative, and production teams.

Production Operations:  Ensures the reliability of production equipment by working with vendors, contractors, and campus staff to resolve ticketed issues and preform proactive systems maintenance. Coordinate installation and commissioning of production systems during construction related projects.  

Volunteers:  Assists campus Worship Pastors in training volunteers to use their gifts and talents in technology to accomplish the mission of BattleCreek Church through a high level of excellence in production. 

Technical Skills:  Experience in design, installation, and maintenance of audio, video, and lighting equipment.  Experience in running live performances such as concerts, theater and/or houses of worship. Understands technical standards and protocols used in production work such as Art-Net, RDM, DMX, Dante, AES, SDI, etc. Experience in terminating and patching of audio, lighting, video, and data networks. Understands the importance of and recognizes the proper use of material rigging and electric work.

Budgeting:  Assists with the development of realistic and goal driven budgets and consistently operates within those limits. Champions proper life cycle management of production resources at the campus level.  

Goal Setting:  Helps establishes organizational driven goals for the department and contributes toward their annual fulfillment with a focus on continuous improvement.

Directing Strategy: Collaborates with Creative, Campus and Production teams to effectively produce weekend and other services.
 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related discipline, preferred.
• At least 5 years’ experience gained through increasing positions within discipline, preferred.
• Specialized training and/or experience as related to areas of essential function, preferred.

This position operated in a professional office environment but may require the following physical demands:  general lifting of materials up to 20 pounds, bending kneeling, carrying, walking, and using hands/fingers to handle items.  May include days where hours sitting at a computer are needed. Ability to acclimate to weather for outdoor events as needed.
