FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a Lecturer position effective Spring 2023 or Fall 2023. The Humanities Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Communication and five academic minors.

This is a full-time position that leads to a certificate of continuous employment. Faculty members are expected to be committed to excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will contribute service related but not restricted to academic advisement, peer teaching observations, assessment activities, and curriculum development efforts, to assist both the Humanities department and the School of Arts and Sciences and, more generally, to support the mission of the College and University.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communication, and the ability to teach successfully.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and a background in Communication preferred. Relevant college-level classroom teaching experience is highly desirable and a health focus would be a plus. We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented individual with a commitment to providing quality education to a diverse student body. The preferred candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and record-keeping skills; maintain reliable contact with the department and students; and meet all administrative deadlines.

Vaccine Requirement

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

COMPENSATION

$69,665 - $88,998
