Job Description: Janitorial Worker
Position Summary: The Janitorial Worker is a non-exempt position that will be responsible for keeping assigned buildings and/or areas clean to include but not limited to Lobbies, Conference rooms, Workstations, Hallways and Restrooms. The employee will be responsible for a variety of tasks and is expected to be willing to engage in several cleaning activities. The employee will demonstrate organization and prioritizing skills with excellent attention to detail. The employee will meet or exceed the minimum job requirements outlined below.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Gather and empty trash and trash bins. • Wash windows, walls, and glass. • Clean and dust surfaces. • Change light bulbs. • Keep buildings secure by locking doors. • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming. • Clean spills and other hazards using squeegees and sponges. • Clean bathrooms and stock them with soap, toilet paper, and other supplies. • Notify supervisor of supply inventory and needs. • Deep clean per schedule. • Notify managers when the building needs major repairs. • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements: • Valid Driver’s license. • High School Diploma or GED certificate preferred. • Ability to communicate and read labels in English. (Bilingual a plus) • Knowledge of basic safety rules & precautionary measures. • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat and lift/move heavy loads. • Positive attitude and work ethic. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Attention to detail.
