The HR Business Partner (HRBP) performs a range of human resources related functions in the Recruiting and Compensation/Classification areas. Oversees the work of temporary and student Human Resources employees.
Main Responsibilities:
Performs professional level duties for the full cycle of recruiting, including but not limited to: Serves as primary point of contact for Civil Service Commission, ensures Title 4A guidelines are followed and oversees PMIS entries Reviews RAPS to review eligibility lists pertaining to vacant positions and inventory of RAPS actions Provides consultative services to the hiring managers throughout the recruitment process for classified positions.
Research employment histories for AFT employees in relation to AFT re-appointment union regulations; process re-appointment letters as needed; and assist with faculty promotion calculations or performance-based adjustment calculations Assist employees when applying for promotional or open-competitive announcements
Review employees on working test period reports/tracker bi-weekly and ensure documentation is received from managers in a timely manner
Run anniversary date reports in concurrence with seniority date reports bi-weekly. E-mail anniversary date notifications bi-weekly on the day before the regular pay slip days. Review the salary change spreadsheets to ensure anniversary dates are in compliance with promotional rule calculations according to the union
Takes the lead over the Human Resources Office Assistant - temporary worker and student workers to ensure the front desk responsibilities are being performed according to expectations.
Performs other duties which may be assigned to ensure the successful function of the Human Resources Department and compliance with all Federal and State laws including customer window assistance, answering telephone and email inquiries, special projects, and other general duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree
Experience: Three years of experience in one or more areas in recruitment and/or classification
Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or Powerpoint. Advanced technology skills
Ability to effectively communicate with cross-section of the campus community
Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
