What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Manager position at The College of Wooster?
The Case Manager will conduct intakes, assess needs, and provide direct/indirect service and support to students experiencing a crisis or barrier to success at The College of Wooster. Additionally, this position manages the administrative and operational components of the care team and covid protocols in collaboration with the Dean of Students office and the Covid Task Force. Duties include serving as the team's lead in conducting health and safety checks for students who have been identified by campus partners as needing outreach; making initial assessments for the care team, managing the flow of incoming Incident Reports (IRs), routing them, and ensuring students have proper follow up; providing direct support to a caseload of students including processing covid related concerns. The Case Manager will work with campus constituents to assure that students receive information regarding next steps which may include housing, dining, academic support, and/or other needs while students are away from the classroom due to isolation or quarantine.
Through consultation, intervention and advocacy, Student Affairs strives to support, educate and assist students challenged with complex issues, crises and other barriers that impede academic and social success. By empowering students to navigate college systems and resources as well as make informed decisions about their individual needs, Student Affairs fosters the development of skills that promote agency and resilience.
This job requires strong attention to detail, ability to work in and manage a database, as well as good judgment and interpersonal skills to work with students experiencing crises including mental health related concerns.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in the humanities, social sciences, communications, public health, public administration, business or related fields.
- Minimum two-years' experience working in higher education administration, student affairs experience a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience doing case management
- Demonstrated familiarity with crisis management and crisis communications
