DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Orders Frozen goods and maintains appropriate stock.
- Follows outlined procedures, including proper rotation and overstocking practices.
- Handles all product in a safe and organized manner.
- Confirms product dates and pulls all expired product daily; rotates and stocks throughout shift.
- Scans and properly disposes of all shrink for the Frozen department.
- Maintains accurate and consistent records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, daily shrink totals, and inventories.
- Completes a thorough date check on bread items each morning and attaches coupons accordingly to reduce shrink.
- Ensures department is faced and orderly by 9 AM.
- Assists in ensuring appropriate signage is present throughout Frozen.
- Stocking frozen product on the sales floor daily.
- Meets or exceeds efficiency standards set by management.
- Helps to develop and execute remerchandising plans that aim to drive sales and increase labor efficiency.
- Utilizes internal movement reports to ensure offerings meet customer needs.
- Follows external market trends to anticipate customer needs.
- Evaluates vendors and negotiates based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
- Evaluates and monitors contracts to ensure vendors comply with the agreed terms.
- Communicates with staff and vendors regarding miss-picks or defective product; secures credits.
- Maintains a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Supports co-op core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
- Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the co-op.
- Others duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year’s experience in a retail environment.
- A minimum of one (1) year’s experience and familiarity with natural foods.
- Supports the co-op’s core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
- Adapts readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
- Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Office Suite.
- POS and receiving systems experience strongly preferred. Catapult experience a strong plus.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately 20°F – 90°F).
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods at a time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Reliable access to transportation.
