REPORTS TO: Regional Director of Fundraising, Gulf Coast and Sabine Ranch Manager

LOCATION: Must be based in Southeast Texas

Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.


POSITION SUMMARY

In coordination with the Sabine Ranch Manager, the Sabine Ranch Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Sabine Ranch in Beaumont, Texas. The Program Coordinator will assist in facilities management activities such as ordering ranch equipment and supplies, ensuring the building’s facilities are well maintained and performing general lodge maintenance. In addition, the Program Coordinator will schedule and manage donor trips, follow-up with donors after their visits, oversee restoration contracts activities and track and report ranch information in the CattleMax grazing database. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is detail-oriented, communicates well with team members and donors, and is passionate about conservation management.

This position is currently program funded through June 2025. Additional funding may be secured, which would allow the position to continue past that date.

RESPONSIBLITIES & SCOPE

Program Coordination

  • Manage donor visits, activities and meals; work closely with ranch manager, hunting guides, cowboys, chefs, guests and other TCF staff to ensure superior guest experience.
  • After donor visits, coordinate with Strategic Giving’s Systems team to ensure accurate database entry, and complete donor correspondence.
  • Work closely with Legal team to execute all contracts and maintain facility records and schedules.

Facility Management

  • Proactively maintain knowledge of facility, operations and recreational activities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve safety issues.
  • Proactively identify the need for facility maintenance.
  • Perform general facility management activities including required housekeeping, assist with serving meals, prepare equipment for donor trips and other required tasks to ensure facility is kept clean and free of clutter.
  • Maintain facility supplies.
  • Track and report ranch information using CattleMax grazing database.
  • Report facility activities and needs at weekly Sabine Ranch meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of bird- and hog-hunting, including familiarity with hunting regulations and safety.
  • Ability to interact with guests in a clear, concise and patient manner.
  • Basic knowledge of CattleMax grazing management database system.
  • Reliable, self-starter with demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Capacity to adapt easily to changes in priorities, scheduling and daily functions.
  • Ability to identify and address safety issues immediately.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Passion and interest in the mission of The Conservation Fund.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in an environmental conservation organization.
  • Familiarity with the mission of The Conservation Fund and with Sabine Ranch.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (if applicable)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to accommodate schedule variations are critical for the success for this position; incumbent should expect to work most weekends during hunting season (November through mid-March) and spring migration (March through June). Hours outside of standard business hours may be required.
  • Hybrid work environment, depending on season.
    1. During hunting season (November through mid-March), work is 100% onsite at Sabine Ranch.
    2. During non-hunting season, 50% of work is onsite at the facility; 50% of work is remote from home office.
  • Much of the job is performed outdoors, in all weather conditions.
  • Travel: 10-15%. Day trips only; no overnight travel.
