Overview
The District Director position is responsible for the overall customer experience, success and achievements of their stores and all stated revenue, financial and employee development goals. This position partners with the Executive Vice President of Stores, Regional Director, General Manager and Store Managers to provide guidance and specific store plans to achieve those goals. This position supports the Southeast Market.

Responsibilities
- Works in partnership with the Regional Director, General Managers and Store Managers on all aspects of the customer experience and driving the business; identifying and setting priorities for the success of the store in all areas of performance: sales, custom closets, average ticket, payroll and customer net promoter scores
- Actively involved in recruiting and hiring, working with General Managers and Store Managers to identify needs, set hiring goals, and balance the skills and experience needed in the stores to achieve goals
- Maintains training focus on our solutions-based selling approach while working in partnership with the General Managers and Store Managers
- Responsible for new General Manager and Store Manager training as well as on-going career development
- Communicates consistently with Regional Director and participates in weekly Regional/Area Director call
- Visits stores regularly and completes a written store recap highlighting successes,opportunities and priorities
- Oversees all company initiatives and directives (sales, visual, training, operations, employee development, etc.) ensuring successful execution and implementation
- Writes and conducts performance appraisals for direct reports and participates in Store Manager reviews when appropriate
- Monitors and ensures the store is compliant in all legal and employee relations matters and communicates any needs or concerns to the appropriate parties
- Takes corrective action when necessary, collaborating with the Vice President of Stores, Regional Director, Human Resources and the management team on the appropriate conversations, actions, follow-up and documentation
- Helps coordinate marketing, public relations, advertising and community involvement activities with our Support Center in Dallas.
- Stays current and evaluates all company and store-specific reporting and applies that knowledge to driving sales and affecting positive change in the store
- Monitors operational functions including scheduling, planning meetings, walkthroughs, safety, building and facility upkeep
- Ensures that the stores are responding in a timely manner to directives and ongoing communications with our Support Center (i.e. visual direction, training direction, store staff updates, payroll, etc.)

Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- 5 years multi-unit retail or comparable experience
- Experience in retail sales field, preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50% a year or more based on the business needs
- Experience coaching and leading teams – balancing the details as well as the broader view of the business
- Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work
- Knowledge of industry and passion for following trends in the industry
- Must be at least 18 years of age
