GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  • Responsible for obtaining driver location and status of Crane Solutions' shipments.
  • The Operations Associate will contact carriers via phone, email and internet to secure shipment status information and evaluate if service level expectations will be met.
  • Shipment status information will be entered into Crane Solutions' TMS. Works closely with Account Managers, Account Executives and Carrier Sales Representatives to communicate shipment status and escalate possible service failures.
  • This individual will report directly to the Carrier Sales Manager of Crane Solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Monitors the status of shipments from pickup through delivery
  • Enters shipment location, date and time into TMS
  • Contacts carriers and drivers via phone, email or internet to determine driver location
  • Escalates potential or existing service failures to Carrier Sales and Business Development
  • Works closely with Account Mangers, Account Executives and Carrier Sales Representatives to ensure service level expectations are achieved and customers are informed of shipment status
  • Secures shipment and carrier documentation (bills of lading, PODs, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of US Geography
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Works well in a team environment
EDUCATION AND DIRECT WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED/Bachelor's degree preferred
