Tech Arts Leader - Mid Rivers...is a full-time position that is responsible for the oversight and implementation of all technical production aspects at The Crossing's Mid Rivers campus. This role is responsible for leading and developing volunteers as well as oversight and management of details for weekend services, events, and classes. This position also oversees and manages technical systems. This position is eligible for The Crossing's competitive pay and amazing benefits package.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and oversee the technical production of Mid Rivers weekend services, classes, and events
- Function as the primary Technical Lead for most weekends and build/train a team to fill all relevant technical roles
- Ensure Planning Center is complete and site staff, contractors, and volunteers are collaborating on all upcoming events and services
- Interface with Systems Engineer to ensure basic support and ongoing maintenance of the technical systems at the Mid Rivers campus
- Build and manage teams of volunteers for various roles including stage manager, production assistant, lighting, youth group, and class support
- Provide actionable insight into budget related to technical needs and opportunities
- Manage scheduling of production volunteers and contractors
- Assist in technical roles for large church-wide events as needed
- Ensure Mid Rivers tech budgets are on target
- Participate/assist/lead Mid Rivers service creative meetings
- Participate in weekly Launch Team meetings as a representative of the Mid Rivers Production Team.
- Participate in a creative brainstorming team
- Assist Systems Engineer with managing and tracking inventory, low-level systems troubleshooting, maintaining current technical systems, participating in higher-level troubleshooting and upgrade installations
- Maintain backstage and dock areas to ensure a clean and safe workspace
- Run point for implementing lighting, video, and design elements for the Mid Rivers campus services, classes, and events
- Maintain proper documentation for all technical systems throughout all Mid Rivers systems
- Stay current on live production best practices and advancements
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5-8 years of experience in large church production or live/tour production
- Experience collaborating across teams and departments in an organization
- Knowledge of and experience with lighting control systems, rigging, consoles and fixtures (conventional, moving, and LED)
- Experience with proper audio implementation and consoles
- Ability to program creative lighting with understanding of lighting for video
- Extensive knowledge and experience on visual presentation including ProPresenter systems and Power Point
- Experience on media server systems such as M-Box or Disguise
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, move across catwalks, climb ladders, and be on feet for long stretches of time
- Experience investing in and building teams of volunteers
- Intermediate Mac and PC operation skills: Software programs used: Word, Excel, email, Internet
- Knowledge and experience on digital audio consoles including Yamaha CL series consoles
- Ability to work weekend hours, along with weekday hours to prepare for the weekends
