Quality Control Inspector (Welds)
Well regarded company in the compressor/pressure vessel industry needs a dynamic Quality Inspector to join a growing team in Gainesville, GA. This temp to direct position offers growth and a great benefit program.
Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-5:00pm
Pay rate: $18.00 – $20 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality inspections on in-process parts using calipers, height gauge, feeler gauges, bore gauges
- Measurements will include Diameter, perpendicularity, length, thickness, angular positioning, thread size
- Collect data and input into the database
- Visual inspections on in process parts including welds Identifying undercut, burn through, excessive spatter, cold laps, porosity
- Other visual inspections will include metal defects such as scratches, dents, gouges, rust/pitting
- Quality audit and inspections of non-conforming finished parts.
Qualifications:
- Previous understanding of welding and metal fabricating process.
- Experience using standard measurement tools (calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.)
- Strong communication skills & the ability to work with various departments
- Ability to read Engineering prints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact well with people.
- Computer experience with Windows and MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be detailed oriented and organized
