Position Title: Dental Assistant
- Location: Monroe, WI
General day-to-day responsibilities:
- Escort patients to operatory, interview patient for symptoms, and answer any general questions
- Timely prepare treatment area by sterilizing, setting up, and delivering instruments for treatment
- Work with Dentist and Hygienist to complete dental treatments efficiently
- Keep patients comfortable by making conversation with them during their appointment
- Maintain an appropriate stock of organized supplies by monitoring when items are getting low and reordering as necessary
- Answer patient questions about procedures and provide post operative advice and instructions
- Take patient radiographs, impressions, and intraoral digital scans
- Record patient treatment plans and notes in our computer software-OpenDental
- Monitor lab cases’ status and contact lab if case hasn’t arrived by expected date
- Answer the phone when no one else is available and schedule patients or answer patient questions
- In the event of an after-hours emergency, be the primary contact for 1 week about every 6 weeks to come into the office with the Dentist in the event of a patient after-hours emergency

- Previous knowledge of dentistry, the teeth numbers, types of procedures, steps in procedures
- Ability to multitask and work quickly
- Treat all patients and coworkers with respect
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA and financial standards
- Always represent the office in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner
- Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude while working around blood and smells that may be unpleasant
- Work efficiently in small spaces and with others in a group setting
- Demonstrate active listening and provide high quality customer service
- Exercise communication skills with Dentist, team members, and patients
- Be flexible and accepting of frequent schedule, procedure, and policy changes
Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma-Required
- One or more years of dental assisting experience and/or a certificate from a CODA approved dental assisting training program or on-the-job experience of at least 6 months- Preferred
- We will train the right candidate without dental experience if they have a genuine interest in the dental field and experience in customer service or the medical field
