Job Description
The breakfast cook is responsible for preparing breakfast meals for guests according to the recipes and instructions of the Chef. They must ensure that all breakfast items look appetizing and taste great. They may need to manage the food and condiments that are placed on the tables, as well as restocking. They also maintain cleanliness in the cooking area and ensure that food is of the highest quality. They may be asked to answer customer queries and manage customer complaints. They must also assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating. Breakfast Cooks must have excellent accuracy, speed, and multitask in order to provide the best service to guests.
The Breakfast cook is needed every Sunday and Monday, and during the week as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a large range of breakfast items according to recipes and menu specifications
- Utilize various cooking methods such as roasting, grilling and sautéing
- Set up and stock stations with ingredients and cooking supplies
- Measure and assemble ingredients to prepare menu items
- Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperatures
- Monitor food supplies and order additional items as necessary
- Follow established health, safety and sanitation guidelines
- Complete assigned prep work for other cooks during off-peak periods
- Keep an organized and tidy work area
- Maintain clean kitchen and cooking surfaces to adhere to health and safety standards
