Are you looking to take the next step in your maintenance career? The Doe Run Company is searching for a Maintenance Superintendent to provide direction and management of facility maintenance, including fixed plant and mobile equipment, as well as engineering and technical staff to enhance production quality and quantity in a safe and cost effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee frontline maintenance leadership in the coordination of maintenance activities for the facilities, both surface and underground by providing proper resources and direction for daily and weekly activities and projects. Maintain a regular presence in all assigned work areas to ensure compliance with maintenance goals and objectives.
- Coach and develop frontline leaders, engineering, and skilled trades employees to address skills gaps and prepare for future Company needs.
- Plan and manage maintenance projects. Champion proactive maintenance programs that help sustain good maintenance practices.
- Prepare annual budget and track costs to ensure the maintenance group attains operational objectives within the approved budget guidelines.
- Ensure maintenance teams handle hazardous waste in accordance within all trainings and regulations; conduct Hazardous Waste Weekly inspections as needed (review & sign 29).
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to understand and respond to external customer needs to develop process improvements, reducing downtime in the operation. Develop partnerships with supply chain and Operations.
- Work with vendors to provide improved performance of equipment through the use of new products and materials.
- Foster a culture to maintain EHS (environmental, health, and safety) compliance by allocating resources, establishing expectations, and holding teams accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures, and best practices; reviewing reports and ensuring corrective action for unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and participating in the continuous improvement in EHS performance through management systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or operations maintenance
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
- Mining industry both surface and underground experience strongly preferred
- Valid driver's license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong computer skills, including CMMS (Maximo or other), Microsoft Office Suite, Budgeting (Adaptive), invoicing (Dataserv), LIMS ETMS (I-Series), PeopleSoft, Tableau, and HRIS (UKG).
- Experience in maintaining both fixed plant and mobile equipment, both surface and underground preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of project management best practices and planning/scheduling processes.
- Advanced knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance for stationary and mobile equipment.
Work Environment & Physical Responsibilities:
- Regularly required to use a computer/tablet; Occasionally required to drive a personnel carrier. Requires concentrated attention.
- Occasionally required to work underground, to work near moving mechanical parts, to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to fall protection, a respirator, hearing protection, and eyewear. Rarely required to work in confined spaces, exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), exposed to vibration, exposed to extreme cold or heat (non-weather); may be exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Frequently required to sit, talk and hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, drive, and use repetitive motion with hands and wrists. Rarely required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, feel attributes of objects, grasp, push, climb, and balance; requires clarity of vision at less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet, three-dimensional vision, and the ability to distinguish colors.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds; rarely required to lift 26-50 pounds.
