What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water & Sweeper Truck Operator position at The Doe Run Company?
The Doe Run Company is seeking a Water & Sweeper Truck Operator to perform grounds housekeeping operations in order to maintain a safe, clean environment that meets environmental standards. This position is at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a truck wash, water truck and a sweeper truck in order to spread water and sweep grounds.
- Ensure tire wash is operating properly.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
- Fill in as necessary for Yard Equipment Operator; safely operate yard equipment and assist with cleanup.
- Perform pre-shift inspection of truck.
- Perform minor maintenance, including tightening, lubricating and cleaning equipment.
- Assist in other facility operations when air temperature is below freezing or raining.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- One year of experience operating a water truck, sweeper truck or something equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mobile equipment certification.
- Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training.
- Valid, current driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of plant layout and traffic routes.
- Knowledge of fueling procedures.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear.
- Frequently exposed to vibration; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme heat.
- Exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Regularly requires sitting, driving, and repetitive movement.
- Frequently requires grasping and reaching with hands/arms.
- Occasionally requires feeling attributes of objects.
- Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, and precise hand-eye coordination.
- Regularly required to lift up to 15 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
