Overview
As a Guest Services Agent at the EDDY, you will be an integral member of the team who creates authentic and memorable experiences for our guests. You will be a key representative of the hotel assisting with reservations, checking guests in and out of into the hotel, accommodating special requests whenever possible, tending to all service related matters and guest inquiries, answering the telephone, maintaining guest accounts, and other front office responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Answer the telephone, assist with reservations, and greet guests in a warm and friendly fashion
- Possess a working knowledge of the hotels property management system and other front office technologies
- Register guests, assign rooms, and accommodate special requests whenever possible
- Understand and uphold reservation, hotel, and financial policies and procedures
- Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department
- Maintain accountability for the cash drawer, financial transactions, and deposit procedures during your shift
- Understand the location and features of each room type, hotel amenities, rates, and availability
- Prepare and distribute room keys while following key control policies
- Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area, lobby, and other spaces as needed
- Interact with guests by proactively responding to guest requests and inquires, obtaining critical feedback to share with the team, sharing your knowledge of all the great things to do in the area, and always being readily available to serve with enthusiasm
- Understand and follow all safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Flexibility and Availability - this is a demanding business and we look for team members who are available that can be flexible and understanding with hours, shifts, holidays, weekends, and workload expectations
- Experience - previous hospitality or customer facing experience preferred
- People Person - we expect each of our team members to be warm, engaged, and friendly with guests ensuring they receive a personable and positive experience
- Great Communicator - providing amazing experiences requires the ability to understand and communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing
- Team Player - having a group mindset, dedication to the goals of the team and hotel, ability to work well with others, and willing to “own” the job and tasks at hand
- Passion - to go above and beyond, serve others, and do all things with excellence
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Experience with computers required; general understanding of other commercial hospitality technologies preferred
PREFERRED
- Boutique hotel experience strongly preferred
- High school or equivalent education
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to lift up to 15-40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment.
Wage: $17.50 per hour
