What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant position at The Edgewater Arms Inc.?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Garbage collection and loose trash patrol
- Cleaning patios
- Moving furniture when necessary
- Empty pet waste stations
- Maintaining small hand tools and shop areas
- Pressure washing
- Cleaning of trash removal area
- Checking sprinkler system and making repairs to heads, etc.
- Planting flowers, shrubs and trees if required
- Operating blowers, back pack/ push blowers
- Handling gasoline and other chemicals
- Spraying insecticides when needed
- Climbing and working from a ladder for certain jobs
- Minor repairs, changing light bulbs and fixture, dryer vents filters, checking stairways, light dusting
- Elevator pads, vacuuming rugs, etc
- Painting patios/balconies, breezeways, and railings
- Maintaining good communication and positive attitude with Co-Workers, Residents and Management
- Following safe workplace rules and practices in order to prevent on-the-job injuries.
- Working regular shifts and additional hours, when necessary, as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Performing other related tasks as needed

- Ability to operate work tools
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Ability to resolve resident concerns while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to apply sound decision-making
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork by assisting co-workers
- Ability to communicate professionally and adapt interpersonal skills to a variety of audiences
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
