CLUBHOUSE DIRECTOR
*$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS*
The Edinburg Center is seeking a warm, creative, forward-thinking leader sought to lead and support Potter Place, a Clubhouse in Waltham. Potter Place provides pre-vocational, vocational and social experiences for individuals who have a mental health condition. Members and staff work together in all phases of clubhouse operations to ensure the successful running of the program on a daily basis. This approach is designed to help members regain their sense of self-worth, self-purpose, and vocational confidence by creating a variety of opportunities to be included and productive. Potter Place is based on the internationally acclaimed Fountain House Clubhouse model in New York City, stressing participation, ownership and choice for its clubhouse members.
What You Will Do:
- Promote recovery, rehabilitation and growth by providing direct and group support to members.
- Will be responsible for day-to-day oversight and supervision of the Clubhouse.
- Will be responsible for the evaluation and disciplinary action of all program staff
- Support members in participation in all aspects of Clubhouse Services to include governance, leadership, staff hiring and evaluation as well as program design.
- Oversee the coordination and review of referral process.
- Assists members in being fully integrated into their communities by supporting the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing ongoing relationships within their community, and reducing stigma within the community through education.
- Ensure that services are culturally competent, strengths based, recovery based, , focused on rehabilitation and are inclusive of member preferences.
Who You Are:
The Director will support the members and staff to run a successful program and to work on program development. The Director must know and understand recovery principles. Must have a working knowledge of the Clubhouse model. Peer Support will be an important component of the program so experience working with Peer Support Specialists is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required. 4 years with the population preferred. 3 years supervision preferred. Computer skills and experience with Microsoft tools required. Valid MA Driver’s license required.
