Job Summary | Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in collection of environmental samples and other investigation and remediation related field tasks. You will work on a range of environmental projects, including collection of environmental samples (e.g., groundwater, soil, sediment), oversight of remediation activities, and maintenance of small remediation systems. You will be working with a group of professional consultants specializing in environmental remediation.

Essential Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Working collaboratively with project managers and senior level staff on projects of varying sizes/complexity to solve environmental problems.
  • Implementation and management of technical and administrative aspects of environmental remediation projects including management of contractors and other outside vendors to accomplish project objectives.
  • Implement, direct, and oversee soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion investigations in NJ and PA.
  • Oversight and implementation of a variety of remedial actions.
  • Develop work scopes, cost estimates, and proposals in conjunction with senior staff and contractors.
  • Evaluation of chemical and hydrogeological data and development of graphics for inclusion into project technical reports.
  • Develop technical reports that effectively and concisely summarize investigation findings, remedial decision-making, and remedial actions.

Experience Required

· 2 to 5 years of experience in collection of environmental samples and other investigation and remediation related field tasks.

· Demonstrated knowledge of field sampling procedures and techniques such as low-flow groundwater sampling, well construction, soil boring installation, soil sampling. Knowledge of NJDEP regulations and guidance a plus.

· The position requires excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities, as well as strong organization skills and attention to detail to ensure work is implemented in accordance with the project plans, field procedures, regulatory requirements, and client-specific expectations.

· Ability to prepare field notes and documentation for sampling and remediation activities.

· Strong mechanical skills. Ability to manage and maintain field equipment and materials and manage field and safety equipment inventories. Ability to work with hand tools and small power tools to make adjustments to remedial systems and install monitoring points. N2 Operator's license a plus.

· Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow direction, work independently, as well as in a team setting.

Ability to coordinate with and manage subcontractors including drillers, laboratories, and other services

  • Ability/flexibility to travel to NJ/ eastern PA sites.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the physical or natural sciences
  • Valid Driver License and Auto Insurance
  • 40-Hour Hazwoper Certification with current 8-hr refresher (if needed)
